From the moment I stepped foot in Bali, it's been a mix of traveling, unpacking, logistics, orientations, getting to know people, and a few delicious meals. While going with the flow, I was starting to get an itch to experience some Balinese culture.

Finding repose in a city full of noise, concrete, steel, plastic, and people
Fluctuating between hyper awareness, tuning into nuance of details that go by unnoticed otherwise; a crimson leaf dancing itself across the street so gracefully and seemingly with purpose. A thumb rotating a ring finger's ring round and round. One sock with the same lime green as the stitching on his backpack.
To blurring vision and opening up the field of view as wide as possible, seeing movements, patterns, and synchronicity emerge.
Tuning the ear into a specific frequency; hearing a woman make kissing noises over a speakerphone to express love, followed by a man's voice, tense and sharp, scolding his lover for not returning his text sooner, rejecting her love. Tuning in sharper, under his divisive words, hearing his own fear and insecurity in that her absence may lead to triggering his pain.
Tuning the ear outward to make all the swirling noise around blend into a white hum of a collective ocean of living.
In this ocean, and of this ocean, feel my self. Living.
I am this ocean. I am the giving and seeking of love. I am the pain and rejection. I am the lime green. I the thumb and the ring. I am the dancing leaf.
In all that I am, I am in repose.

Unsettled; Sailing the Adriatic
After a week on Obonjan in Croatia, I joined the Unsettled sailing trip that took us all around the Adriatic Sea for a week. Among the 40 people scattered across 5 boats, our crew of 8 transformed to family on our time together on the catamaran.
Tribe in Obonjan, Croatia
320 weird and lovable humans from all over the world, in a group called Sandbox, gathered together to take over the island of Obonjan, Croatia in June for our yearly Global Summit. Together we co-created an experience that challenged, educated, and inspired each and every one of us. By the end, I felt as if I have found my tribe.
At one point, I was standing barefoot, alone, in a Somali dress, on a stage in a stone amphitheater looking over the Adriatic Sea, in front of all 320 Sandboxers, making absurd animal noises and collectively hearing every deep fear and secret from the audience.
Here are shots from this special week:
